These are goals for the finished formula, not results. Each will be checked in testing before it becomes a statement about the product.
Lips have a thin outer layer and no oil glands, so they lose water quickly. A balm helps in two ways: occlusives (waxes, butters, some oils) form a film that slows water loss, and emollients smooth the surface so it feels less rough. That is the whole job, and a good balm does it reliably.
Zinc oxide is a recognized sunscreen active in the United States and appears in some regulated lip products with SPF. Zinc gluconate, the form in AuraAnn's system, is a different compound. It does not provide sun protection, and a balm that contains it cannot say SPF or sunscreen unless it is separately formulated with an approved active and tested for it.
Because a lip balm is partly ingested during normal use, ingredient levels have to be assessed for oral exposure, not just skin contact. That review is one of the gates before this product can launch.
